RESIDENCY SUPPORT OFFERINGS 2026-2027
Bring your experience, expertise, and your questions to the 2026-2027 Statewide Educator Residency Support Offerings. Our two types of FREE gatherings - Communities of Residency Practice (CoRP) and Networks are facilitated by experienced residency professionals and offer dynamic learning experiences on a variety of topics for California residency programs statewide. Offerings are strategically planned on different dates in order for participants to access more than one.
All participants are highly encouraged to attend with their LEA/IHE Residency team members.
All sessions will provide the following:
Accessible content offered for FREE virtually
Curated resources and tools to support program implementation
Practices focused on the 10 Characteristics of Effective Residency
A combination of expert and peer-to-peer learning
Guided strategic planning for partnerships
SRTAC and The Residency Lab will also continue to offer our in-person programming:
Fall Kick-Off Events - September 14, 2026, Bay Area, Capital, Central, Northern & Southern Regions
Spring Regional Site Learning Tour (I) - January 25, 2027, Bay Area and Southern Regions
Spring Regional Site Learning Tour (II) - February 1, 2027, Northern/Capital & Central Regions
Annual Statewide Residency Symposium - April 22-23, 2027 (exact location TBA)
“CoRPs” are topical and centered on specific residency program implementation practices and program sustainability. Consistent attendance is expected to acquire these distinct supports:
CoRPs rely on relationship-building, trust, and shared learning, which develop over time.
Each member's presence contributes to collective knowledge-building and professional growth.
Year-long participation supports a sense of belonging and commitment to the community’s shared goals.
Professional learning builds from one session to the next with a commitment from participants to attend all sessions
Summary
Drawing on lessons learned from programs across the state, participants will examine approaches for leveraging existing resources, aligning funding streams, and building long-term program capacity. Attendees will leave with actionable tools and ideas to develop a sustainability plan tailored to their local context.

Contribute your insights to this CoRP to discuss mentor teacher support and structures, to include aligning preservice and induction mentorship for a coherent 3-year residency support model that is both organizationally and financially sustainable. Bring your ideas, big or small!
Networks” bring together a specific group of people to work and learn together shared goals.
Share promising practices, tools, and lessons learned from your residency programs.
Problem-solve real implementation challenges with peers in similar roles or contexts.
Examine examples from the field and consider how they might be adapted locally.
Reflect on program strengths, gaps, and next steps connected to your program goals.
Receive targeted resources, facilitation, and thought partnership from SRTAC.
Contribute to a statewide learning community focused on strengthening and sustaining residency programs.
Summary
Effective and collaborative IHE–LEA partnerships are the foundation of sustainable residency programs and the focus of this Community Network. Connect with fellow university faculty to explore puzzles of practice, discuss emerging research, and share strategies that strengthen educator preparation and program sustainability. Participants will help shape the agenda to ensure discussions are relevant, timely, and meaningful to the group. Whether you come to contribute your expertise, pose questions, or simply listen and learn, your voice is welcome.
Summary
Exchange ideas, resources, and best practices with colleagues statewide who are implementing residency programs in geographically isolated areas. Participants will share knowledge and solve common challenges that contribute to improved student outcomes in rural contexts.

This is a collaborative platform for SCR Capacity & Implementation grantees to share their program models and current implementation progress. Through discussions grounded in the SCR characteristics, participants will exchange insights, highlight best practices, and collectively identify gaps and opportunities to enhance access to resources and support.

Participants will exchange ideas, resources, and best practices for developing collaborative structures that support shared leadership, resource alignment, and program sustainability. Attendees will strengthen their capacity to cultivate effective partnerships that expand and sustain high-quality educator residency programs.
Summary
Explore the opportunities and challenges unique to educator residencies in charter school settings. This session will provide a space for charter school leaders and partners to discuss innovative approaches to recruitment, staffing, funding, and collaboration while learning from peers who are developing and sustaining residency pathways. Participants will leave with practical insights and connections to support their local efforts.
